What tha? Xmas 2009 Rick asked me if I'd like to join him for this years trip to Johnson Valley California. In previous years I really wanted to go but am always stretched so thin between the office and running Crawl Canada that I just couldn't do it. My time line hasn't changed but I really need a vacation and this was a hard one to pass up. Believe it or not, this will be my first vacation ever outside of Canada....think I work too much?
Rick heads down every spring...destination, the Tinbender's Jamboree in Johnson Valley California (A.K.A. The Hammers)We're taking approx 11 days, packing up the pickup, camper, 1:1 4Runner, Scale RC's, three killer Bajas and camera gear and going on a mission! Forget this babble, I want to see more on the toyz your guys are taking down!
When we got to talking about the trip and were obviously a bit wound up! We knew bringing Scaler RC vehicles and representing Crawl Canada was a no brainer > then the HPI Baja conversation started > then we thought we should get some good video > why not record the event from the trucks > heck why not film the entire trip and share it with 1800 of our closest RC buddies! So we came up with the Redneck Roadtrip I think this is truly what we as Redneck's would choose to do every day if we won the lottery....pool side spa and PinaColadas...no thanks! In mid April we're starting off on a cross country adventure and doing our best to film everything, this should get interesting!Essentially we're having you join us on our much needed vacation, and we're hoping that you guys enjoy what we come up with. It will be a learning experience to say the least and will be a great opportunity to bring more awareness to Crawl Canada and our fantastic group of sponsors.
The video series
Complete rookies to film, we've armed ourselves with as much equipment as we could afford and we're planning on doing our best to capture the true spirit of our adventure. As all of our conversations do, this one progressed to a point that it became a full on project.
When we return we plan to make a movie trailer just to feature a few of the highlights and hopefully gather some interest. We are going to try our best to launch and entire series of the Redneck Roadtrip in weekly segments. Hoping this will give us enough time to get really creative with our editing and do a nice job for everyone. We'll be using YouTube as our host for the videos and they'll be viewed and featured here on the official Redneck Roadtrip website.
Providing we get the great footage we expect, we're considering doing a limited run of DVD....we'll see.
The tunes
We now have a full on soundtrack for the series provided by the every talented RickWhiteAlbum. The music he creates is fantastic and will make a very creative addition to our project. Aside from the songs from all Rick White's solo albums he's offered to create instrumental components for some background audio...this is going to sound amazing!
